New England sure isn't like that Seattle attitude though They like honeybadger and just don't give a ----. "#1 offense? not on our field."
I've no problem accepting that; what I can't and won't accept is expecting him to win that SB singlehandedly. Apparently Elway also won't accept it; guess he's not a "real" Broncos fan either.
I don't enjoy that conversation going
"Wow, the Broncos have SO much talent they're a lock for SB Champs!"
"Yeah... think they can avoid blowing it again?"
Especially when we've gotten the answer in our VERY FIRST PLAYOFF GAME 2 years out of 3.
NO: I think we should've rebuilt a championship roster, PERIOD, whether or not Tebow bombed out the first year of that so we wound up with a bunch of top draft picks that gave us our pick of the best players, including a chance to find our franchise QB for the next decade (Note: Whatever anyone else did, Manning was NEVER going to be that guy, hence we're already talking about who we desperately need to find for that job just three seasons after Mannings arrival.) The point was, whether Tebow succeeded or failed, building a championship TEAM avoids hanging everything on the QB.
Mannings whole career is practically an object lesson in why it's a bad idea to stake a championship on a QB alone. Anyone who'd rather have Manning and our team or Wilson and theirs hasn't seen them play each other; Manning's a FAR better QB, even close to 40, but Wilsons TEAM won both games, and the biggest was over almost literally before it began.
No, everything was frantic because everything was frantic; there's a reason Elway worked so hard and successfully to "win free agency" three years running: Because Manning had a VERY narrow window left, and Elway had to get him through it with a roster that needed the most lucky breaks in NFL history just to reach .500. Predicting THAT would fail WAS easy; the hard part was convincing all the homers who ordered three seasons worth of "SB Champs" gear the moment Manning signed with us.
Speculating about the post-Manning Broncos is only fun for people as certain that will be a glorious eternal string of championship as they were Mannings brief Broncos stay would be the same.
Well, teams doing everything RIGHT don't fire their whole coaching staff after a(nother) one-and-done playoff game at home, after taking a week off to heal, study tape and gameplan while their inferior opponent had to play an extra game just to GET there. Mainly because teams doing everything right don't LOSE that game, let alone twice in three years.
I don't know everything, but my three-year-old predictions were pretty much dead on, and MUCH nearer the mark than all the homers who called them ignorant and disloyal. Reality a traitor, too?
Oh, valid point. I thought you meant all starters, you should take the time to be more descriptive, don't be shy. —Jaded

#Bears hire Jeff Rodgers as special teams coordinator. No surprise. Worked with Fox in CAR and DEN.

Well I hope he's careful and does it in a safe place. They can be pretty unpredictable
Suppose Cutler throws a hissy fit because they didn't hire Shanahan?
I wonder what the Vegas odds on that would be? 3/2?
