Well, I won’t stop playing The Show. That ain’t happening. C+. Surtain is going to be a great player, but Denver had a chance to go all in, and they decided to fold.

My point isn’t that Fields is the guy. My point is that you shouldn’t not try when you have a generational player in division. You could be decent in that situation and not have a chance. Denver should go all in with stuff, like Fields. He doesn’t work? Try it again! We got a decade of Mahomes.

Or,.you know, stack talent to combat Hahomes and see if you have a QB already, for free. If not, try again, at zero cost.

A QB competition isn’t the solution.

Using your assumption that the die is cast at QB, I'd say:

I don't see this coaching staff adapting to the draft-contract QB model

It comes down to whether or not Fields is the real deal

Building a high quality roster entices high quality FA QB to join (eg Tampa)

...but if Fields *is* the real deal, it was a mistake

I'm not going to read that into the Paton quote. It's a kick in Locks ass is all.

If they think they have an actual 'let the chips fall where they may' summer QB competition, that is all kinds of ******* *******.

Here's the thing with Lock - he should be good. The physical talent is obvious. He sounds like the type of man that puts in work. Bridgewater's talent went with his knee. And he played scared. Good backup. But if that's an actual qb vs. qb thing, and lock losses, the season could be over. Because winning with Bridge isn't something that's ever happened.

Then again, the roster is strong so maybe game managerial antics ain't the worst. Who knows?

Tells you how offputting he was to some teams. Was Fangio in SF when Reuben Foster imploded?

They can’t all be Tim Tebow.

Nope, but none of them can be Foster.
