Default Name an 80s song with lots of funk and groove and stuff

The more unknown and underrated or overlooked, the better. Must have a sort of funk about them. Makes mama wanna dance, or at least do a kind of sexy little shuffle thing.

Songs I'm thinking of are like this:

    INXS - What You Need
    Stand Back - Stevie Nicks
    Tainted Love - Soft Cell
Safety Dance - Men At Work
What I Am - Edie Brickell & New Bohemians

I'm going to put this here on MO's behalf. And, frankly, mine too!

From '72, but is an all time great funk.

Lots of good ones in the year 1980. That tail end of Disco and dawn of New Wave funk helped shine a light on some cool stuff like this:

And this! (Late 70's...) I think this was the first 45 I ever bought.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone the only good song in this thread is from the 70s.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

As an angry teen who grew up liking heavy metal and rap -- I always found the overly smiley 80s keyboardist shtick to be annoyingly off putting...

But now that I've grown soft in my old age, I've come to appreciate 80s music... Big Hall and Oates guy these days. I guess they're technically a 70s band but their 80s stuff was classically 80s.

    For one that's truly underrated/overlooked:
