Default Bates demoted, Morris to take over defensive calls for Buccaneers

http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=090...s&confirm=true

TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris will call defensive plays after demoting defensive coordinator Jim Bates following a 1-9 start.

The Buccaneers, who lost to New Orleans 38-7 on Sunday, are 26th in the NFL in total defense, allowing just over 378 yards per game. They're last in rushing defense and have allowed 294 points, the second-highest total in the league.

It's the second major change Morris has made with the coaching staff since training camp. Offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski was fired 10 days before the start of the season.

It's not clear what Bates' duties will be the rest of the season. He was hired last winter to install a system to replace the one the Bucs ran for 13 seasons under former defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin.

so you fire your OC 10 DAYS bfeore the season starts, then fire you DC ten games INTO the season. Yeah. This guy is really instilling a LOT of confidence with the players/organization.

His players call him Ra. they call their OC, DC and position coaches "Coach" but they call the boss Ra, or Raheem.

I understand the player coach BS, but this is bad. He was told to F off after catching one of the DB breaking curfew in london.

No respect.

Pretty self explanatory, yet somebody decided he might be a good hire. Yeesh.
