Picked up quickly? The draft came and went without him being picked. What is that 256 players? I don't have problem with Rypien being picked up as UDFA and yes he has some skills but wasn't enough to warrant drafting him.

I didn't say he was a no talent bum but lets not lose perspective. He's here as a developmental project atp.

I like that Denver will have all new handpicked QBs

The NFL gave him a draftable grade and most people thought he would go in the fourth or fifth round. So regardless of how we want to paint the picture. You turn on the film, and the guy is not Case Keenum. He is more accomplished has a better arm. He might not be quite as good an athlete. But he definitely has everything you want in a quarterback fundamentally and as I said before I hope someday we go back and look at the 2019 draft and make a nice correlation between it and the 83 Draft when we drafted two quarterbacks.

Or drafted for one and traded for another.

Any 4 yr starter throwing nearly 100 td passes has a decent skillset. Its the mental game some can't handle it or process iy when they get to QB1 (see Keenum).

He's here as a training camp arm plus practice squad player. You can count the number of undrafted QBs who have made any impact in the NFL at all on the fingers of one hand. He is not at all likely to be an exception.

That doesn't mean they don't give it a chance, but don't hold your breath expecting great things from him either, because John Elway certainly doesn't. His plan is Drew Lock, not Mark Rypien.

More accomplished than Keesum? Dude was in college for 10 years and played in a run-and-shit system. I don’t know their stats, but I highly doubt this assertion.

As for his arm strength, there isn’t a single report I know of that doesn’t describe him as a pop-gun.

Whatever ... and so it begins.

All hail the Next Jarius Jackson/Tony Romo.

    6th round— Cash Jones RB
    7th round— Carson Steele RB

    https://thedraftnetwork.com/player/brett-rypien

Three reports in this one site, all three indicate a rag arm.

Lance Zierlein, “lacks arm stretch . . .”. Compares Rypien to Nick Mullens, I rest my case.

But hey, remember y’all don’t think arm strength even matters, especially the “It” groupies.
