I have a coworker whose dad is getting towards the end. Super good guy. Umpired and coached softball and volleyball for years around town. Retired railroader so he has a comfortable retirement. He lives for four things. Going to the local college games (getting harder and harder for him), Nebraska volleyball (season ticket holders, but he can’t go much anymore) and football games and Royals games on TV. Dish ****** him out of the Royals games on TV for half the season.
**** them.
I sure hope there are trade partners for Greinke in the off-season because the Astros need to pay Cole to keep him in town.

The end of the Braves vs Cards game is a great illustration of how the "art" of pitching is being replaced by the force of pitching. These pitchers nowadays pitch so hard that I think some of the nuance of pitch placement is going away. I'm not sure if it was just a lack of control or unintelligent baseball, but either way you cant throw a pitch in and above the belt in that situation. Terrible pitch placement in that situation.
chop that braves
I agree with that. But now the analytics are favoring some placement pitching - I can't remember what analyst during a game brought it up, what you're saying. I'm paraphrasing, but essentially launch angle hitters and strategies negate so much of pure flame throwing. He also pointed out that guys like Randy Johnson and Pedro threw high heat, but also could control where it went.
Damn the Yankees. Them winning yesterday pushed the Astros game from 3pm to 6pm tonight and I won't get to watch more than the first inning because my oldest son has a baseball game at 7:45 at a park that's 30 minutes away. ANGER!

Astros and Dodgers on the brink... You hate to see it.
The Astros will win tomorrow. Cole is pitching on a full rest and the major advantage the Astros have is that a large majority of their roster has been here before while the Rays haven't.

Well that soundly lessens my interest in baseball the rest of the evening. **** St. Louis, their arrogant fans and their shitty city.
9 runs in the 1st inning lol
Cards setting post season records.
