I don't know why, but this song has a very special meaning to me. I might have posted it before, apologies if so, and to those that hate Springsteen.
On to movie scores, this is one of my favorites:
I think it was also in a war movie - can't remember the name. Charlie Sheen was in it.
That song doesnt really do anything for me personally but i dont mind some of his stuff. I still love the song "Im on Fire" a lot and "Philadelphia" "Dancing in the Dark", and "BITUSA".
I like Prokofiev a lot. He's got three pillars in my book. Kind of stuff in the classical realm that would appeal to prog rock fans if you can stand the instrument.
(I saw Yuja play that live, she's a trip. But Argerich is the best. The women play it better.)
His war sonatas are definitely an acquired taste type thing, but worth the effort. The whole #8 is solid, and #7 and 9 are next, but the catchy part is at 19:48 or so if you don't want to invest the time. Richter is by far the best at Prokofiev.
His piano concertos are pretty baller, kinda weird some of them, but #3 is a real crowd pleaser. A deep listen if you are the art-rock or prog type music listener.
I mean, damn. Tell me I'm wrong. I'm not. So freaking good.

Hey, if you are really indifferent and don't want to click any of those, expect you are right that it's boring, weird, or a waste of your time, check this out, it's super short.

Cornell's voice was generational. I thought about him today. I feel like some people just are more prone to being melancholy or whatever, they can be pretty special because of how they naturally try to fill that void through achievement and such. Was listening to some Soundgarden at the gym. Man they blended blues and grunge into a secret sauce. I still listen to that, but not as much PJ or any of the other stuff these days.
