My point isn’t that Fields is the guy. My point is that you shouldn’t not try when you have a generational player in division. You could be decent in that situation and not have a chance. Denver should go all in with stuff, like Fields. He doesn’t work? Try it again! We got a decade of Mahomes.
Using your assumption that the die is cast at QB, I'd say:
I don't see this coaching staff adapting to the draft-contract QB model
It comes down to whether or not Fields is the real deal
Building a high quality roster entices high quality FA QB to join (eg Tampa)
...but if Fields *is* the real deal, it was a mistake

Here's the thing with Lock - he should be good. The physical talent is obvious. He sounds like the type of man that puts in work. Bridgewater's talent went with his knee. And he played scared. Good backup. But if that's an actual qb vs. qb thing, and lock losses, the season could be over. Because winning with Bridge isn't something that's ever happened.
Then again, the roster is strong so maybe game managerial antics ain't the worst. Who knows?
