The new stadium opened in 2001, naming rights sold soon after, team had cash to upgrade Dove Valley and build the fieldhouse. Made some big time FA signings and contract extensions. I seriously doubt they were floating paychecks on season ticket sales for the past couple decades…

It’s not worth debating, I just challenged your assertion as being overly broad.

‘Per current league rules, all future fully guaranteed money due in a player contract must be placed in escrow at the time the deal is consummated. It's antiquated and has long been a bone of contention for the NFLPA. It was implemented long before the NFL became the 365-days-a-year revenue and content monster it is now, and it was put in place on the surface to prevent a team from defaulting on a contract to a player. Yeah, quaint, ain't it? Those days are long gone, but for decades many owners have hidden behind it as an excuse as to why they wouldn't guarantee more than a year or two. I can't go around putting $50M, $60M, $100M, in escrow every time someone wants a fully guaranteed deal. Only, well, Haslam just put about $185M in escrow to make good on what he still owes Watson beyond 2022 (and he did so by also only putting $1M in the QB's base salary to limit any financial damage to him by an upcoming suspension).

    So, yeah, that's over“

Makes you wonder how this will affect the sale of the Broncos, millions dollars worth of damage done to Mile High and the notion of putting $300 Million in escrow just to resign RFW.

They need to redo that rule somehow and get it in line with other sports.

The stadium is owned by the "Metropolitan Football Stadium District". The Broncos are a tenant of the stadium and don't have any financial obligation to my knowledge to repair the damage from the fire. Even so, I'm sure insurance is covering the lion's share.

“Lion’s share” says the insurance guy…. Not as true with hurricane damage as I wish it was!

What's your wind deductible down there? 2%?

If they give the storm a name it ranges from 2% - 10%. Fortunately USAA is 2%. That deductible applies for a full storm season, so if I meet my 2% deductible and then get smashed by a storm a week later I don't have to pay the deductible again. I did the math on it and USAA hasn't made a LOT of money from me given my recent claim but they're winning (as well they should). After my deductible and depreciation I will probably be about $14k out of pocket from Ida, down to about $8k if I get all the recoverable depreciation back. Still not sure how that all works.

You should be able to recover the recoverable depreciation by submitting either a signed contract with the contractor who is doing the work, or a final invoice from the contractor. (assuming you're having a contractor do the work for you).

Otherwise, copies of the bills for materials, and an accounting of your time to do the repairs etc.

If you're having a contractor do it, the easiest is to get a contract from them, and they should be able to pay out the depreciation on the front end based on the contract.

Hopefully, we'll go to a third SB and get a second SB win under Ellis tenure this season, and then you can hate him for causing us to have a bad draft pick.
