Yeah, I have 2 scrimmages tomorrow. I hope it holds off a bit.

I would've posted about the Monsoon that hit town yesterday, but it knockout power at my apartment. No electricty, no router, no chatting on social media because my phone is too cumbersome for me to do any major correspondence. When I did get power back, I got side tracked with other matters. In any case, there were lights all the way up to the park that right next door to my apartment complex, but none for us

Yea, looks to be REALLY slow moving based on the one track projection I saw. Come on shore, stall, almost completely reverse course before moving up the coast.

Based on one map I saw, it looked like even inland near you, could see 12-24" of rain. Are you in a flood prone area?

This crossed my mind when I was looking at a track that an Ark meteorologist posted. This is what Bastardi is saying is possible.

We might pay in spades for that 12 year drought of a major hurricane.

@BigJoeBastardi: have always emphasized heavy rain, but we think Harvey will be a hurricane as it moves ENE back over water. 2cnd, perhaps majorlandfall Tue

Yeah, San Antonio is very susceptible to flooding. Three out of four models I've seen look ok, but the fourth model would be catastrophic.

I knew in general it was, just didn't know about you personally. Hoping for the best for you and the city. Hopefully, it won't be as bad as some predictions (some areas getting close to 3' of rain) and the storm will move much quicker than modeled.

Wow, this model would be horrendous. Calling for 60" west of Houston.

Hopefully, Bastardi is wrong. He's now predicting it will be a CAT 4, and then after hitting Chorpus Cristi, move back out to see and could make a second landfall as a 3.

@BigJoeBastardi: Now a major on my power and impact scale which incorporates pressure. Should go to a 4 before 1st landfall2cnd Wed up the coast, may be 3

I'm so glad I ended up in Denver instead of Houston...

Want a once-in-a-lifetime thrill? The eye of Harvey is creeping slowly up to Interstate 10 and you could drive right through the eye and tell your grandchildren you did it. They'll think Granpa is badass or they may think Granpa is an idiot.

FWIW, I drove up and down I-35 in the wash yesterday and will be doing it today and tomorrow. There's been adequate drainage on the interstate so it is navigable as long as your vehicle can handle the crosswinds. I stayed around 50-60 mph instead of my usual 60-80.
