Chubb and Casey should help out big time this year
You are correct. He can't do it by himself. He needs help to compliment his talents, and that 2015 defense did that.
They've asked waaaaaayyy too much of Von the last few years, expecting the Defense to play to the point of almost offense, it was ridiculous. The weight of leadership was too much too, with him being the assumed defacto leader of the team. Lock will help take the camera off of him for better or worse.

He hasn't lost a step. our defensive line rotations were garbage at the beginning of the season last year. Shelby Harris at nose tackle really? when Von work himself back into form was not actually when we got another outside linebacker to generate pressure it was when we started seeing consistent pressure up the middle again. In 2015 he not only had DeMarcus Ware, but Derek and Malik were both generating consistent pressure up the middle.y'all know me I'm a dyed-in-the-wool orange glasses Homer, but system and again that horrible rotation we were running early in the season hurt him as much as Chubb being out.

    you ain't wrong. . .

    and von ain't young. . .

will the line be better without wolfe? will chubb be nasty right out of the gate? do they have a third rusher who can give the top two a breather? do they have the right personnel to hold up better in the back seven?
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

He's not the same guy he used to be. He's still a hoss, though.
