    Default Mock v5.0 (Final)

Alright, this is my final Mock of the new season. Going by who was taken before Denver's picks and who was available afterwards this is what i came up with. I also added in Free Agents that i think could help the team in the long run. Although i thought of trying to fit in a premier RB i think the addition of Ward and Peerman in the draft to go along with the guys we have can make it work depending on McD's offensive scheme.

    FA Signings:

    Bryant McFadden CB
    Chris Canty DE
    Derrick Ward RB
    Channing Crowder LB

    Draft:

Round 1: Rey Maualuga LB (USC)
Round 2: Rashard Johnson S (Alabama)
Round 3: Terrence Taylor NT (Michigan)
Round 4: Shawn Nelson TE (Southern Miss)
Round 5: Mike Wallace WR (Ole Miss)
Round 5: Cedric Peerman RB (Virginia)
Round 6: Lawrence Sidbury DE (Richmond)
Round 7: Michael Tauiliili LB (Duke)
Round 7: Stephen Hodge S (TCU)

Here is how the team would round out:

    OFFENSE:

    QB- Jay Cutler
    FB- Peyton Hillis
    RB- Derrick Ward/Tatum Bell/Cedric Peerman/Selvin Young
    WR- Brandon Marshall/Eddie Royal/Mike Wallace
    TE- Tony Sheffler/Daniel Graham/Shawn Nelson
    OL- The Usual Suspects

    DEFENSE:

    NT- Terrence Taylor
    DE- Chris Canty
    DE- Lawrence Sidbury
    LB- DJ Williams
    LB- Channing Crowder
    LB- Rey Maualuga
    LB- Elvis Dumervil
    CB- Champ Bailey
    CB- Bryant McFadden
    FS- Josh Barrett
    SS- Rashard Johnson

I like a lot of it. However I think that if we bring in Derrick ward we won't draft a RB.

I think that we only need to bring in one DE and I would like that to be Canty.

It's easier to make the move to 3-4 DE than to linebacker so I think that we get more of those in the draft. That and failed lb help out more with special teams.

I also think that we bring in a QB in the draft to back up Cutler.

So I would change Peerman for a QB and Sidbury for a LB. But I do really like most of it, as you can see.

I thought about adding a QB through FA. In some of my other mocks i had us picking up Batch from Pitt. He has veteran experience which i think would go a long way in Jay's maturation. But yea, anything can happen this year so we will see how it goes.

Based on what you have listed at LB, I'm assuming you're putting DJ at an OLB spot. I have my doubts about how he'd perform as a 3-4 OLB.

I had him on the inside initially. But isnt he a better OLB than inside anyway? What do you think is going to happen to him if we go 3-4? I just figured he would be somewhere in the equation unless you think we are going to dump him or something.

I've said before that he was my biggest concern in this switch. He's played everywhere, but the only place he's really been very good is the WILL. I think he'd be okay as an ILB in a 3-4...maybe...but I just dont see enough size or skill to be a pass rusher as an OLB in this system. I'd almost be willing to trade him away if the price were right.

Fair enough. I just havent heard his name being mentioned too much in any case. Figured he was going to be a staple here in some shape or form.

I really think D.J. did a much better job at Mike than he is given credit for. Nevertheless put a better defensive line in front of him and I think we'll see just how good he really is.

Not bad...I hear Taylor may last as late as the 5th. I think we can get him in the 4th.

I cant really comment until I see it, but I just dont see DJ as a pass rusher. Overall I think he's overrated by Broncos fans to begin with, but just from a talent perspective, I think his skills are maxed out at WILL and he's merely above average anywhere else.

I haven't had a chance to watch the combine today, I wonder how he's doing/how he did?
