UFC is generally not my thing -- but I'm so starved for sports I watched the whole undercard that was on ESPN Saturday.

There were a few decent fights on the undercard.

Just when you think he’s brilliant he does something incredibly stupid.

Part of the brilliance is that his stupidity only helps out after he's done being stupid.

I will say this for him...at heart I don't think he's a bad person. He's not like War Machine or something. He is an overgrown toddler in many ways. But, he has kindness in him. He's great to his fans. He clearly has affection for a lot of people, and when he losses he admits it....then talks smack a little later, but that's business. A lot of what he does really is just business...but I think he also uses that as a shield sometimes, too. It's a sort of evergreen-mulligan, in a way.

Very well said; although I’m personally not a fan I do respect him.

He's an icon. There is no doubt about it. I will also give him this - I never saw a McGregor fight and thought 'well shit, that was a waste of money' because he's special. If he ends a fight early, it's not some sloppy awkward KO. And after the fight he makes it something, even if it ended early. He *is* good for the sport and *is* a worthy champion. He just happened to show why boxers are by far the better strikers, but his family eats off that forever. So **** me.

When did you become an mma fan?

Speaking of mma, there’s a fight night on espn+ right now; 2-3 fights left on the card. I’m looking forward to seeing OVSP make his heavyweight debut.
