According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, as many as eight teams have contacted Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic about Duchene, but no deal appears to be close.

Dreger adds that none of the teams who have reached out feel confident they will acquire the centre, who has been on the trade market since February.

That article references a piece that talks about trading everyone but Nathan MacKinnon. It's literally a rumor of a rumor. It happens to literally every time that is losing.

Beyond that, I'm not sure what your point is weazel. Trade rumors affect lots of guys, and not all situations play out the same.

Regardless of how it got that way, Duchene wanted out, and the guys he was playing with knew it. So can you blame Duchene for wanting out? Not really. Can you blame his teammates for wanting that poison pill out sooner rather than later? Not really.

At the end of the day, this is hardly the most contentious trade I've ever seen. Nor is it in the top 50.

no actually its a nothing trade between a couple of decent teams and a very bad one. That's why I asked why she was wasting so much time trying to prove a timeline.

Which one is the very bad team? I can't tell from the standings.

It is a great haul.

I do hope this haul does better though than the haul they got for O'Reilly which I also thought was good.

It does make me wonder though when I hear a lot that the team wants to get younger and faster. Was Duchene not like only 26 and fast as hell, seemingly the very type of forward they said they want?

Still, at-least a great haul.

Absolutely, Duchene is young and fast, and we'd love to have another player like him.

But, like it or not, the relationship needed to be ended. You just can't keep a guy on the roster that doesn't have his heart in it. I'm not assigning blame to either party, I think both handled their respective positions fairly well, but regardless of how it came to pass, Duchene needed to go.

Duchene became Douche-ene.

Falls pretty flat after his openly pouting for the last couple seasons.

Openly pouting? That's a bit unfair. It was a bad situation, I think Matty was pretty classy with it. Not perfect, but far from pouty.

Our team captain said "good riddance, he didn't want to be here" when he left. He showed up to camp this year literally pouting... It was far from classy.

You are paraphrasing. The gist of it is accurate, but the curtness of it makes it appear more callous than what was actually said. And did you see Matt's open letter to colorado fans? I beg to differ about the classiness.

It was a bad situation that would have (has been) difficult for anyone. Duchene didn't do anything over the line, and continued being a good soldier despite how long he was on the trading block. I think you are being a bit home-team biased, but that's cool. Can we at least agree that it easily could have been far worse?

It's still really early, and I feel the team is still trying to find it's identity with some up and down moments... but I hold out hope that the worst of it is over and we are on the rise once again!
