Maybe Lock just needs marginal NFL ability, a stupid mustache and an even worse win/loss record to get fans excited.

It's usually pretty safe to assume the latter.

You should stop viewing the two as being mutually exclusive!

I wonder if Lock owns a pair of cutoff Daisy Duke Jorts?

Only alpha QBs bring out the daisy dukes. Not Lock's style.

Lock’s the kind of man that wears a banana hammock while building the Eiffel Tower out of steel ... and brawn ... that’s the kinda man he is.

It’s cool that Lindsay wants to give his honest assessment. I don’t think he was trying to do Lock dirty but perhaps when we trade Lock to Houston in a package for Watson, Lock can then go on to show Lindsay how if he can learn to pass protect and catch the football better that he might get a second contract with a team and not be the lowest paid guy on the current squad after being a 2x 1,000 TD rusher because you can’t do anything else well. Also and that playing running back in the NFL isn’t just about getting to run the ball to the outside and to the holes you pick to be “used properly”...

I think it’s just funny that everyone (pundits, talking heads, players) has an opinion to share about a QB who has one year’s starting experience with a new scheme on a roster decimated by injury. The most recent of whom lost his starting job because he is injury prone, can’t pass block and can’t catch. If I was a player and was ever asked about any other player, I’d do absolutely nothing other than praise them. It displays poor character to critique any other player. That’s why Champ Bailey was a pro’s pro he never had anything but good things to say about anyone.

As a fan, I love it when these guys are candid and give us some insight we wouldn't otherwise get. Also, I think there is a big "workplace politics" component to this. If you are respected, that will come through in how guys talk about you... If you aren't very well respected, then you'll probably be on the receiving end of more critiques.

My very oversimplified interpretation is that guys generally like Lock but that they don't respect him as a team leader/QB/captain type yet. Which makes sense. It's on him to change that perception from his peers.

Maybe this is a conspiracy by the media and Lock's former teammates just to smear his good name.
