Default Week twelve news and notes - Chargers @ Broncos

Edge rusher Bradley Chubb is going to practice on Monday for the first time since injuring his ankle in Week Two. Chubb remains on injured reserve, but will be eligible to be activated at any point in the next 21 days.

While Chubb will be practicing, left tackle Garett Bolles won’t be on the field. Fangio said that Bolles is going on the COVID-19 reserve list and indicated that Bolles is vaccinated because he would be able to return with two negative tests taken 24 hours apart.

not exactly holding my breath at this point, but it would be sweet if chubb could actually stay on the field and give us some production. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Hopefully we will get more healthy bodies back on the defensive side. We’re going to need it...

Q: Who is Kendall Hinton? A: More than Broncos’ Emergency Quarterback. Heck of a lot more. “I feel like I belong here.”

Default 'All along we wanted both': How GM George Paton and the Broncos re-signed Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — As the 2021 season continued and the Broncos crept closer to free agency, some outside the organization believed Denver was inching closer to a difficult choice.

    Courtland Sutton or Tim Patrick.

The Broncos' top two receivers were both slated to be free agents at the end of the year, and there was no guarantee both would be back in Denver.

Inside UCHealth Training Center, though, General Manager George Paton and the Broncos were always determined to retain both of the play-making receivers. Paton said he and his staff would meet weekly — sometimes daily — to discuss their plans to retain key players, and Sutton and Patrick were focal points of those conversations.

Amazing how the giants can fire Jason Garrett for being terrible at his job but Pat Shurmer gets held onto.

But anyways I think he’s still out from being irresponsible with Covid.

Nonetheless the broncos are surely going to lose this game and slip even further out of this phantom playoff hopes they have if teddy starts and finishes this game.

Default 'We've grown to become brothers': How Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick forged a bond through different paths

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Maybe it should have been expected that Tim Patrick and Courtland Sutton would sign their new contract extensions within essentially 48 hours of one another.

General Manager George Paton said Monday afternoon that it was mere coincidence, but considering the two receivers' bond, perhaps it's more fitting just to say it was poetic justice.

That these two fourth-year receivers — both physical, both nothing short of dedicated to their craft, both hard to cover and both hard to tackle — made the decision to stay in Denver for the next several years, well, it just made sense.

"We grew together," Patrick said. "I came in a little bit earlier, but it's kind of like we both came in at the same time because my first year — considering the [practice] squad — it doesn't really count. We kind of came in together, and we've just seen each other grow. We see each other get better day in and day out. I don't think you could come up with a better story than us both being under contract here and being able to lead this team [to] more wins."

Game 1 of 5 left to play within our division.we’re playing the chargers and the chiefs twice yet, and the raiders once. Both the chargers and the chiefs are peaking right now, and it’s hard for me to say we belong in that group...

One could argue, maybe not against the Raiders, but they have beaten us.

We’ll know at halftime. We’ve only ever come from behind to win one game in the Fangio era when trailing at halftime. That happened to be the Charger’s game last year that we won on the last play of the game (Lock to Hamler), but they are a better team this year than last.
