I am a fan of A Christmas Carol. There are many versions and adaptions, but my all time favorite is the George C Scott version in 1984. As the cliche’ goes, Scott is an actor that could read a phone book and make it interesting, so his performance here is strong. Is streaming on Netflix currently. 9/10

Other recommendations: the Patrick Stewart version & the Muppets version with the great Michael Caine as Scrooge. Strictly for kids would be the Mr. Magoo version and Mickey’s Christmas Carol.

Edit: It’s streaming on Prime Video, not NF. Also, it ends just after the New Year.

Scrooged era Karen Allen might be the prettiest woman I have ever seen. Maybe she's just my type or something but I have always thought she had the prettiest face and the cutest smile ever.

Went and saw The Whale starring Brenden Fraser with my wife tonight for our annual Christmas movie night out: 9/10

Its a very intimate movie they almost feels like a stage play in its structure (including almost entirely taking place in the main character’s apartment). I don’t want to spoil much, but the hype around Fraser’s performance is well deserved. This movie is all at once depressing and optimistic, focusing on the lies we tell ourselves and the truths that are so hard to tell others.

Cant recommend it as a feel good movie for sure, but it was nice to see this level of acting and storytelling in the theater again.

I like Brendan Fraser. I haven't cared about the Oscars for years, but it would be kinda cool to see Fraser win one. From Encino man to Oscar

Every interview I've seen with him he just comes across as a genuinely good guy. Keanu always came across that way to me as well.

Yeah he’s a real standout in this movie, and the combo fat suit and weight he gained is very realistic! My only complaint is that even though I didn’t know the movie was based on a play until after I saw it, it was obvious at times and took me out of some key moments. I still want to see Babylon too, but that 3+ hour runtime tells me to wait for streaming!

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent - 9/10
An action/comedy starring Nic Cage playing a parody version of himself and Pedro Pascal as an arms dealer who wants him to make a movie out of his screenplay.
I had no idea what it was about when I recorded it but I wound up laughing my ass off for most of it.
A well made flick that I really enjoyed.
