The goalie for az has played at an all star level tonight. Game should have been 9-3 Avs. The most ridiculous goal tending.....and now Francy with an amazing save of his own.

Wow. This is crazy. But their goalie is having the best night of his life!!+
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

1st round pick and a player should be enough. People be trippin on hypothetical trades.

Default Avalanche reaches 40 victories in 54 games, tied for second-fastest in NHL history

Another third-period comeback resulted in the Avalanche’s NHL-leading 40th victory on Tuesday — a 5-3 triumph over the New York Islanders at Ball Arena.

Colorado collected No. 40 in its 54th game — tied for the second-quickest in NHL history.

Only the 2015-16 Washington Capitals reached 40 wins quicker, and that was in 53 games. The 1995-96 and 2007-08 Detroit Red Wings also reached 40 wins in 54 games.

We are looking good. Still need that 3rd/4th line scoring to pick up. G or Pavelski or Miller are needed imo to finish this off. I also wouldnt mind a swing for flower. Either way, we are just tearing it up!

Default Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog set for knee surgery; 'no timeline yet' on return

Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will undergo knee surgery on Monday, coach Jared Bednar said Saturday.

Though Bednar said there is "no timeline yet" with regard to Landeskog's rehabilitation and recovery, he is hopeful the veteran will be back before the end of the regular season.

Colorado entered the weekend with 87 points, tops in the NHL, and is in clear position to be the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, at the least. The Avalanche will likely battle the Florida Panthers and the Carolina Hurricanes, among others in the Eastern Conference, for the Presidents' Trophy and the No. 1 overall seed in the postseason, but their place in the West -- 10 points ahead of all other teams in the conference through Friday night -- should hold the rest of the way.

On a team loaded with offense, Landeskog is having a terrific season at 29 years old. He leads the Avalanche with 30 goals, and is fifth with 59 points. He is a staple on the power play, where he has amassed five goals and 20 points.

Default Short-handed Colorado Avalanche add defensive depth, acquire Josh Manson, 30, from Anaheim Ducks

The Colorado Avalanche made the first major move ahead of next week's NHL trade deadline, acquiring Anaheim Ducks defenseman Josh Manson on Monday in exchange for unsigned prospect Drew Helleson and a 2023 second-round draft pick.

The two teams made the announcement on social media Monday night.

Manson, 30, is a pending unrestricted free agent who had drawn interest from several clubs. Anaheim retained 50 per cent of Manson's $4.1 million cap hit in the transaction. While the Ducks are only three points out of a playoff spot, given Manson's age and Anaheim being in a rebuilding mode, it was unlikely he factored into the plans for new general manager Pat Verbeek.

    Its a great great trade.

We still have 1 or 2 more moves to make. We are currently not calling anyone up, despite being down landy and sammy. We are going for cap relief. Good to see Joe playing this the same way Tampa has and Vegas did. It will def allow us to bring in a G or JT miller or someone. Need Vancouver to lose, not likely.

Manson was a HUGE get! Love it

Default Avalanche trade Jost for Sturm in swap of centers with Wild

DENVER — The Colorado Avalanche acquired Nico Sturm from the Minnesota Wild for Tyson Jost in a swap of centers on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old Sturm has nine goals, eight assists with a minus-5 rating in 53 games this season for the Wild, mostly on the fourth line. The native of Germany was signed as a college free agent out of Clarkson in 2019. Sturm won 51.1% of his career faceoffs, compared to just 39.5% for Jost.

The 24-year-old Jost has six goals, eight assists and a plus-1 rating in 59 games this season. He was a first-round draft pick by the Avalanche in 2016 out of North Dakota.

Sturm can become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Jost is under contract for next season with a salary cap hit of $2 million.

Mason had 10 hits tonight in our shutout win (thank you blue line). He played well. Entire kings team has 17 hits lol.

Look for G or Miller to be brought on. G would be after his 1000 game is the rumor. So Friday I believe is his game. Man oh man! This is exciting!!!

We came out and just Smoked them!!!! That was the most fun first period I can remember in ages! I knew we would come out hard, but I did not expect Nashville to be so soft. I think that might change, but Josi and duchene and forsberg are their only scorers. I dont know, but I think we pull the brooms out on this one. Id love to see MIN and STL just beat each other up and STL knocks off the dirty Wild.
