"We saw it…. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers
They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard
I don’t agree with letting a QB fake the slide because defenders have to let up. We all know if a defender hits while he is sliding, it’s a personal foul. QBs are already babied enough. Treat it like calling for a fair catch. Anyway, rant off.
Props to Pickett for being smart enough to do something like that. Maybe he should be our guy!
It should also be noted that when a Qb slides there is no need to touch him down since he is giving himself up. That only applies to a player who falls down on his own unintentionally.
It’s like the NCAA read my mind on the fake slide. I’m glad they banned it for the playoffs, and will probably implement a rule for next season.

This is great news, im glad they took issue with it. Wouldnt have changed the outcome of the game he did it in but i knew it was very problematic when i saw the replay.
"Any time a ball carrier begins, simulates, or fakes a feet-first slide, the ball should be declared dead by the on field officials at that point," the memo states. "The intent of the rule is player safety, and the objective is to give a ball carrier an option to end the play by sliding feet first and to avoid contact. To allow the ball carrier to fake a slide would compromise the defense that is being instructed to let up when the ball carrier slides feet first."
To bad they suck so much these days.
Good win, Midshipmen! Geaux Navy!
I can’t complain about the transfer portal, because LSU would of probably never experienced Joe Burrow. It’s definitely a thing now in college football. There will be no loyalty to a college they commit to because they’re not good enough for the position at the college they committed to. College football created this, and alumni/fans will have to live with it.
