My favorite though is Cube. Anything he touches is just gold to me.

LL Cool J. I don't care. You had to be there. When bass was bass and the universe was young and hot.
What about 3rd Bass? Love this song... "The Gas Face."
One of those rare moments when I think a fist to the face is the proper medicine. Here we are almost 2020 after 100+ years of monetizing jazz, blues, and gospel because that shit--the active ingredient and not the dormant flavoring--is like heroin to the white man, but someone wants to pretend Mozart was the pinnacle expression of the musical mind. Because it's 'sophisticated'.
It is sophisticated, but that's like saying shit needs to be intellectual and thoughtful and rhetorically sound to be enjoyable. That's just wrong. Dancing is fun. More fun than analysis. Most of the time.
Mozart is great, but it's not like the human race is ever content with what's been done and what we already have. We need novelty. Sometimes I hear stuff I want to "play them at ear-splitting decibels," and I think: Mozart would want to share libations with these fine chaps.
Dr. Dre will always be my favorite.
There is a great documentary on HBO about him and Jimmy Iovine called The Defiant Ones.
