Default Kobe Bryant forced to play in All-Star game?

Kobe Bryant will either have to play in Sunday's All-Star Game or face a one-game suspension, despite having a serious finger injury that was revealed on Thursday.

According to NBA policy, any selectee who plays in his team's last game -- Bryant scored 29 in Wednesday's win in Minnesota -- has to play in the All-Star game or sit out his team's next game. Even though his pinkie injury was diagnosed as a ligament tear after Wednesday's game, Bryant is expected to play. He'll likely start and then sit out the rest of the game, but there's also a chance he could skip it altogether with the Lakers set to meet the lowly Hawks in their first game after the break. That is a stupid rule. Team games are more important than the All-Star game and he showed them by playing 3 minutes then sitting out the rest of the game. That plan worked.

All-Star game makes more money than one regular season game, and that's what Stern is concerned with...
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

He played 2:52, I think Scott did the right thing and let him sit, and everyone comes out happy in the end!

This whole issue just made me think even lower of the NBA All-star game. It's already a joke / popularity contest. Oh well.
