Agreed. ya never wanna get too cocky and think you can just turn it on...like the lakers a few years back. But they seem to be much less disfunctional than the Shaq/Kobe debacle. Not a knock on the lakers per se, just the most recent example of a tale told all too many times.

I dunno...the Mets didn't get overconfident. They just met the wrong team at the wrong time. Kinda like San Antonio when Jordan was playing baseball. SA dominated, but Houston would get hot at just the right time. Same w/ ST. Louis. They tore thru the AL team to win it all.

That was the closest example I could find at the time.

You're right about the Lakers though...I know what ur talking about...Duncan and his crew don't have that cocky ego the Lakers had...I'm sure Pop brings up the Lakers of 04 and warns the team all the time.

I don't know. George's expiring contract was a big part of that deal. Dallas needs a solid back-up PG...not a has been All-Star.
