new offensive coordinator? we won't be getting a new OC as far as i know, we already have one-- rick dennison . . . dinger was the "assistant head coach/offense (whatever the hell that means )-- i can't remember them saying anything about adding anyone else to the staff. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

There have been reports that Jeremy Bates will take on a bigger role in the offense, but nothing saying that he will be the OC. I believe one article said that he will take over the passing game while Dennison will retain control of the running game, which he had when Dinger was there. The way it's looking right now, is that Dennison will be the OC in title but he and Jeremy Bates will basically be sharing the job.

I wonder if that means Shanahan will become even more hands on with the offense.

Bates is suppose to be one of the young bright minds in the NFL.

Kiffin walked up to Shanny at the meetings and asked him for advice. You guys remember that?

Shanny: "My advice? Don't be seen talking to me!"

Apparently somebody saw. Al Davis is just a degenerate corpse now - nothing left in that brain at all.

I don't know that we'll add another guy. Shanny may go into the season like this. I'd rather see some new blood in here, somebody who might disagree with Shanny occasionally, but we know those guys never stick around long. If nobody else is brought in then Shanny might claim to be in charge of the offense again, and that's a little bit of accountability that could be a nice improvement.

Considering he comes from the Air Coryell family, I would say no thanx.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

It's starting to look like the Broncos aren't going to add a new coach for the offense.

The question is, who is Shanahan going to trust with the offensive play calling when he has to spend his time helping Slowik with the defense?
