That data does show that coaching is called far more often on women, FWIW.

And the data isn't going to be able to qualify which levels of verbal disrespect fly for which players - you're 'stuck' choosing whom you believe.

I know everyone is keeping tabs on the Australian. Some late-night tennis!
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

My tennis watching has fallen off a cliff. How did Djokovic get back to number 1? Wasn't he way down the rankings last year?

Also, it's freaking nuts that Djoker-Fed-Nadal are still the top 3. Those guys are ageless.

Each game is play to 4, only can win if up two. So, tied at 4, someone must win two straight points and they play on until someone does.
(The lingo is love (zero), 15, 30, 40, 40-40 is “deuce,” Ad is the person who won the deuce point, if they win the next point the game is over, if they don’t, it goes back to deuce.)

Each one of those is a point towards the set. Play to six, win by two, most tournaments force a tiebreak at 6-6, but a player can win a set 7-5.

Tiebreaks are play to 7, must win by two. If it gets to 7-7 in a tiebreak, the rules are the exact same as the deuce rules.

Best of three sets, or best of five. They only break out best of five for the men in the four majors.

    Who are the GOATs?

    How important is play surface?

Why do they grunt so loudly?

Watched the end of the Tsitipas match when I woke up. What a fantastic young player he is. That was a masterpiece of a match from him, and Federer came in playing so well.

Play surface is extremely important. Grass and hard court are more similar than clay. Clay court specialists are a thing.

I still never figured out the grunting thing. I played. People don’t grunt that expressively normally. You have to consciously do it. Thanks Monica Seles.
