In general, just because a banning isn't made public doesn't mean that the member who was banned wasn't given multiple warnings, and finally a reason for their ban.

As a mod, I've seen many members 'claim' that they had no clue why they were banned, but I don't think I know of an actual situation why that was the case.

Seems to have gotten some mixed reactions. The intent is to:

2. Let people know who has been banned and when they will be back.

3. Give a brief explanation, so that others will know why the member was banned and as an added benefit help others not make the same mistakes and force mod/admins hand and cause a ban/suspension.

4. Most importantly, minimize the "why was xxxx bannned" threads.

Do you guys favor this or think this should not be done?

jk but I do like it. Its always nice to see who was banned and why. Maybe if people dont like it then more will behave so others wont have to see thier name stand out. But we will see how it goes.

I like it, it's like public stocks. Throw the rotten tomatoes at the freak in the stocks.

Why not... I have never experienced a HD meltdown, but I suspect it would be classic if it ever happened.
