Usually, the winner doesn't do as good as the runner-up, or the fan "favorite."

If I'm not mistaken, there's a long list of people who've sold more than the winner that year...isn't there.

Doughtry is of course the prime example. Was Carrie Underwood the winner?

Chris Daughtry was the year Taylor Hicks won. But nobody on AI has outsold Carrie Underwood.

American Idol - yawn
First few episodes are funny due to the freaks that perform for them, but after that it is pretty inane.
Pop music sucks. Lyrics that are done without the context of good music are just concocted BS for the most part.
These kids can sing for the most part, but until they put their heart and soul into their music then you can be pretty sure they will fade away pretty quickly.

I'll be down watching some Idol this year.

I don't vote at all. I just love the show. If I voted it would make it a job and then I would not like it. I just decide on who I want to win and if they get bumped... I move on to my next favorite. (I guess you could say since I don't vote I don't hold any real sense of loyality to anyone!) I have picked them straight through until last year when Taylor beat Katherine. She is so much better and did remind me a bit of Judy Garland (Wizard of Oz age not older)


Oh well... can't wait til tonight.. Whoohooooo!
