Default To all Veterans, thank you!

For all of you who have served this Mighty Nation, thank you!!

For those who missed important birthdays, their child's first steps or first words, a sincere thank you.

For those who staked their lives so that we could enjoy our freedom, a sincere thank you.

For those that gave their own lives for that freedom, thank you!

The words in this message can't come close to explaining the love I have in my heart for each and every one of you. I don't know but a few of you, yet when I walk through a grocery store and see a soldier in fatigues, my heart overwhelms me. Just a huge amount of pride and so much gratitude for what you all have done and continue to do.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to each and every one of you worldwide. Stay safe and come home as your mission ends with your head held high and know that there is much adoration and support for you and your sacrifices.

    Happy Veteran's Day!

    Branch: USMC
MOS: 0317 (formerly 8541) Scout Sniper. *enlisted to be an Aircraft Mechanic, but I got lucky on the rifle range and they changed my MOS for me*
Deployments: Japan, Somalia, Sierra Leone, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, El Salvador, Colombia, Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Guyana, Liberia, U.A.E., Taiwan, Phillipines, Bosnia, Norway, Taiwan, Singapore.

Everyone else in the military gets to see great places...I got to see the armpits of the world (other than the 14 hours i got to spend in Australia). Lucky me. Fortunately, I didn't spend too much time in alot of these places...but I did spend too much time in others.

...and I dont get my free Appelbee's today. 10 years ago, I was riding with a friend who got pulled over. The cop asked for our ID. I didnt have my license on me, but had my military ID. The cop felt it wasnt valid and confiscated it. i went to the station the next day to get it back and they said they destroyed it. God bless Texas cops. Just havent gotten around to getting a new one since because I dont feel like sitting in the VA office all day and exposing myself to the people there...just for an ID.

That is absolutely disgusting to hear Coach. I apologize on that jerk's behalf. If I were closer I'd cook ya a steak better than you could find at Applebee's just to make up for it. Try to enjoy your day anyways. Thank you!

8 years for Uncle Sams Navy 78-85 spent time in the Phillipines, Guam and 4 years working with the Submarine community. Personnel. Most people wouldn't know that, as what they see is an older guy with long hair.

Thanks Gem for acknowledging those that have, and are serving. and a to my fellow vets.

Anyone taking a vet to applebees for a free dinner needs to either have their dd214 or I think just a photo of them in the military.

My dad served on Iwo Jima...was awarded a purple heart...he's been gone for almost 25 years now...had one heck of a sense of humor...Miss that man alot.

My husband is also a veteran of the U.S. Army...

I think about our soldiers serving around the world alot and all the sacrifices they make each and every day!!!

Many thanks for all the hard work they do!!!

    HONOR THE VETERAN
    by: Sunny Paula Barnhart USMC
    Veterans are easy to recognize
    By their special swagger
    And their shattered eyes
By the way they stand so tall
    When the flag is raised
And how they bow their head
    When the Lord is praised.
    They may have clabbered voices
    And brown and mottled skin
A missing arm or leg or eye
But you can see the youth within.
    What horrors did they see
    What hell did they endure
To keep my flag and liberty secure?
What would our nation be like
    Without veterans such as these?
Let us remember each of them
    When we bow our knees
And may we give all reverence due
To the brave men and women
Who defend the Red, White and Blue.
