You're exactly right. They've been playing like that all year. They are in a position now though to do something that's never been done, and they don't want to blow it. They don't want to be remembered for winning 17 straight then losing in the AFC title game or Super Bowl. If that happens, instead of making history, they would become a statistical footnote in history for being the only team to win all 16 regular season games then blowing it in the playoffs. You're also right in that their athletes aren't that much better. At the level they're playing at, everyone is good. It's not like high school or college where there can be huge differences in talent. They're a veteran team that has experienced a lot of success for several years, and they don't want to lose that.

Randy Moss is the best WR in the game.

Tom Brady is a top 1 or 2 QB in the league...#3 is pretty far off.

Rodney Harrison, although an A-hole, is a top 1 or 2 Safety in the league.

Asante Samuel is a top 5 CB.

They CLEARLY have 2 of the top 10 DLinemen on their team.

Their Oline is all but inpenetrable.

Lawrence Maroney is a 1st round pick who would dominate for any other team...but the Pats don't really need to use him? That's just insane. We all saw last night what happens when they take the leash off of him.

The first few years, it was smoke and mirrors. Now, they definitely have more talent that most, if not, all the teams. Now experience, creativity and playcalling definitely matters, but ya also need the horses. They have em in boatloads.

I really dont think they even need a running back. They could go 5 wide every time and nothing can get thru that line. I forgot which game it was but Brady literally had 10 seconds. He threw the ball cause a man got open not because of pressure. Thats the best pass blocking line I have ever seen.
Thanks MO for the wicked Sig.

I'm sure Madden has used something to the effect, but the original quote is Yogi Berra's, from www.quotationspage.com

Baseball is 90% mental, the other half is physical.

I hate Rivers. He is everything bad. Spoiled rich POS. Karma will take care of him. I have a hard time not wishing an injury as well.
