Watching DMB's new DVD from Piedmont Park in Atlanta. You Might Die Trying is playing now.

Screw pop music and hip hop. This is about good music. Ben Harper just released a new album, and apparently DMB is in the studio getting some stuff done.

Let's devote this to actual musicians and not people with marginally good voices and no real talent...

You mean like Milli Vanilli?

My friend got me hooked on Coheed and Cambria. Excellent band. The lead singer singer Claudio Sanchez sounds an awful lot like Geddy Lee from Rush. Their songs are all derived from a story line from a comic book series called The Armory Wars. Give em a try.

I hope you don't think Soulja boy is real music. It's unbelievable how people like him get rich degrading women and saying YOU! for no apparent reason. He puts an ugly stain on rap, which I'm already not high on. Matisyahu is pretty cool in my book though.

Widespread's new album out Feb. 12

Widespread Panic will release its next studio album, Free Somehow, online and in stores on February 12. As previously reported, the disc was recorded by Earth to America producer Terry Manning at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas and features eleven new songs, including “Boom Boom Boom,” “Walk On The Flood,” “Angels On High,” “Three Candles,” “Tickle The Truth,” “Free Somehow,” “Flicker,” “Dark Day Program,” “Her Dance Needs No Body,” “Already Fried” and “Up All Night.” Though Widespread Panic has played a few of these songs over the past year, most of the tracks have yet to hit the live stage. The group is also allowing fans to preview a handful of songs online now. Free Somehow will also receive a vinyl pressing on March 4. Widespread Panic will celebrate New Year's Eve in Atlanta from December 29-31.
