The penalty was an extra 15 yards. So that's a 59 yard field goal. I can see Fitz getting an extra 10 yards because the Raiders defense is dumb.

Plus, the defense did not stop Fitz from scoring since he took over. I get what you're saying. Let the Dolphins score the harder way. But if Jacobs scores on that play, that gives the Dolphins the ball with 1:45 to score a TD. Against a VERY poor defense. If the Raiders score on the next play, that gives the Dolphins about minute to go 75 yards. Against this defense, that's still not impossible. I'm basing all of this on how bad, and dumb, our defense is.
What if he got it on third down and they only had an additional 40 secs to work with to get a TD?

He made the wrong call and then got bit by an undisciplined player getting an ill-timed penalty.

We'll have to agree to disagree. All I know is the Raiders would've lost either way.

If you truly feel that way then you must blame your $100,000,000 coach.

That doesn't make sense. I'm talking about the defense failing regardless of what decision Gruden made to score.

Are they not coached by him? Players not understanding situations and doing utterly moronic things at the worst possible times doesn't fall on coaches?

    Of course it does.

Ok here we are. Same scenario. No time outs. 24 seconds. Watch the defense give up the winning score.

Gayders just cut All-World C Rodney Hudson with a $16 M dead money consequence.

I have no clue what that team is doing, but I'm fine with it.

Given that our run blocking was less than stellar last year, I think the nut job known as Chuckie is switching to a west coast style of play, and these linemen didn't fit the bill. Do I agree with it? Well, I can't find a good argument against it with the exception of Rodney Hudson. Everyone else slipped in play or was just non-existent, including Trent Brown. We'll see.

Gruden is on par with Mike Shanahan for his roster building prowess. I love that you guys have Mike Mayock and Gruden has found a way to render him completely ineffective.

Also, I posted this in the lounge, but just in case any of our Raider fan friends are in the market for a new place:
