It's 63 degrees right now in NH.
I turned the heat off in my house overnight and the house is still too warm.
3-7" of snow tonight into tomorrow, and snow showers for the rest of the week. This place is gonna shut down. My daughter is excited for no school, but she doesn't realize it'll extend into her summer break like last year. They got around 2-3' of snow last Feb, and schools shut down for 2 weeks. Well, rather than getting out of school 2nd week of June, the schools didn't close until June 24th. Be careful what you wish for, I told her. This aint Alaska where schools don't shut down for snow.
A Little Rock weather guy posted this today. I remember this outbreak, while my town wasn't hit, I think three, or might have been four, touched down within 15 miles of here, south, north, west of my town.
Houses leveled. A purina grain store (grain silos and stuff) wiped out. It was very memorable.
Not sure about other states, but here, the worst outbreaks and most severe tornadoes have often happened in January, because as a southern state, we can easily, and regularly, get warm days in January, but then have cold fronts that move through and that makes for volatile weather.
Surprisingly, woke up to about an inch of snow on the ground. It's melted now. Sunny now, but it's supposed to snow again the next couple days.
Nearly 6" of snow fell overnight. Wasn't expecting that! Supposed to continue all day.
Yeah. And it's accumulating quite a bit faster than they can plow it. We were sent home from work early today.

Reminds me of when 5-year old me was watching St. Helens in person. A manifestation of cosmic power witnessed personally.
