Rained until about 7pm and when I woke up this AM we had 16 inches of snow and no power. I cleared off about half of the driveway got the generator going, got my fridges and furnace going but there are downed trees everywhere and we might be without power all weekend. Wife finished as I got ready to head to work. 80% of the people in my office have no power and live in different areas. It was a big storm.

Why does the power always go out for y'all?
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Older part of the occupied country, I'm guessing. Everything is above ground there and fallen trees can easily take it out.

That’s what I was thinking. Plus just more power demand because more people in a smaller space.

Weight of snow and ice knocks out power poles/wires. My neighborhood has underground utilities but eventually they connect to above ground.

The Kenai peninsula is getting close to 3'. I'm thrilled we'll only get a dusting. #readyforthespringmeltdown

Cold all day. I was in Iceland last week. It was warmer there than western PA has been all winter.

Absolutely beautiful. Low to mid 70s, sunny. Supposed to get up to the low 80s and sunny next week.

I would love some of that weather right now. This is what I get to look at for another month. My street is nothing but ice.
