Another 4” of snow last night, and froze last night. My 10 min commute was fun.
Tornado Alley is about to live up to its name.
Nice knowing you, Abe.
God speed, and stay safe, NTL.
Damn.
We had a super cell produce 12 tornadoes Friday. Hit mostly rural areas, so the damage was minimal.
We had a Tornado Warning for one just to the West of my office about a mile or two. I don't think it ever actually touched down. The coverage is so great between the radar information and helicopter/storm chaser video, I was able to watch the whole thing blow right past and knew I didn't even need to bother going to the shelter when the sirens went off.
But then the rain. Good grief. Somewhere between 6 - 10 inches over night in the area. Flooding here that we've never really seen before. I-40 was closed in both directions for an hour or two. Several folks stranded and needed to be rescued from homes and vehicles etc. Crazy stuff.
The overpass is prolly a good place to be during flooding.
