lol dont get too green with envy... we had a blizzard blow in yesterday and its still going. schools closed, Calgary international cancelled all their flights. We got 20 inches of snow yesterday and supposed to get another 5 today, its 5 degrees but with the windchill its -18. I have 5 foot snow drifts in my front yard. There's abandoned cars all over the place lol
I'm not looking forward to the next few days. Just saw the sun peek out for a few minutes - may be the last time we see it for a week or so.
I don't mind snow, but hate the cold.
Brrrrr.
Cold here. My car said 3 degrees and my Weather Bug app said -22 wind chill. The forecasted high today is 8 with wind chills between -15 and -25 all day.
That's awesome.
We are getting nothing in terms of precip, but we get the cold. Personally, if its going to get that cold, I wish it would just dump a couple of feet of snow too.
its the overcast and/or wind that gets me. other than that I dont' mind the cold weather too much. not knowing how to dress can be a pain in the arse, but you can dress for it, unlike the heat
I hate the wind. No wind and cold temps aren't hateful. When you have to work outside all winter for 8-12 hours per day, you don't need to exaggerate how bad winter is. There are some really nice 40-50 degree days here and there in the winter that I really appreciate but it's the exception, not the rule. For someone who grew up in and lived in warm climates until three and a half years ago, these winters DO suck. I don't think you'll find a whole bunch of regular people who are from where I am that enjoy 43"of snow in two weeks in April or 3' of snow in 36 hours in the first week of October (even though I wasn't here for that one my wife, who is from Houston, was) with the kind of bitter cold temps that we get. It wouldn't be so bad if the worst part of my day was walking in to the office then walking to my car at the end of the day. My opinion is what it is. I would rather be in south Texas wearing shorts and flip flops not up here. I'm not sure what I exaggerate, certainly not the temps. It's ******* cold for a long time here...starts in October-November and ends in April-May.
