Thread: New to the site

I was one of the displaced Freaks. Going to check the forum out and see how it goes. Looks like a pretty good site with the same layout as the freak. Colors are kind of bright, but I'll get used to it.

Where is the lounge??

its underconsturction. Not really, just though, that we just started this site, so we are still growing, and need a little time before people really start getting active.

Joe, what's up man. Yeah, I decided to come here and give it a whirl. Most options are the same. I miss the salute showing up at bottom of thread and seeing who is in what thread, but WTF, i can deal with it. It seems like this will be a pretty good site.

They have a "mile high salute" on the top right. I guess they experimented with a salute type thing, but it's still in development.

tne might need some financial assistance since we don't have a site to help anymore to implement things....

Hey 9798, glad you giving us a look. Sorry to hear about the Freak shutting down, but we're glad some of you are checking us out.

We don't have a lounge exactly like the Freak had one. We have a "What's on your mind" forum which is the closest thing to your lounge. That is just the general chat forum. However, one difference is we have a lot of specialty forums for things like entertainment, movies, music, etc. A lot of us came over from Broncomania when we started up, and therefore there were a lot of requests for the 'seperate' forums to keep things organized, and like they were on Mania.

We also have a set of Town Hall forums, including an important discussion we just started in the "issues to be discussed" forum. Things are probably a little different here than most forums. While I 'own' the forum, if you will, meaning I pay the bills and act as admin, I don't make the rules. For that, we have a seven member advisory board made up from the general membership. Periodically, or whever a BroncosForum members initiates one, we have discussions about what changes could be made. Currently, we have an important one about the rules, moderation, banning, language, images, etc. Just because you guys are new, doesn't mean we don't want input from you as well, so don't hesitate to jump in and give input.

BroncosForums truly is run by the fans, or more accurately, the members of the forum/community, so it is important that as many members of that community participate. http://broncosforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7047

We are trialing our current salute system (modified version of the CP/Reputation system), and our internal 30 day trial ends in a few days, and we will decide if it is permanent. I actually put together (on a test server) a salute system very much like what you are used to, but as I indicated, we are community driven. While we don't make any decisions by polls, the advisary board DOES make their decision based on what our members want. If enough of you guys feel strongly about that type of salute system, it could happen.

While the thread is closed, here is a Town Hall discussion we had on the proposed High-5 system (basically your salute system). http://broncosforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2123 You can take a look at the screen shots in it and see if that is the kind of system you lilke.

Also, I am curious about 'knowing who is in each thread'. I have heard this mentioned before, but the other person never pointed me to an example. Where on BroncosFreak can you see this. That is something we can probably simply turn on.

When you're in a thread, near the bottom just above the reply box listed the members that were currently viewing that thread. (I think that is where it was...)

A the bottom of each thread there is an area at the freak that shows who is looking or posting in that thread. it's a convienent way to know if you are posting to somebody if they are there.
