LANCANE welcome

- love the players but here are the issues i have with the picks....
norwood is a great player and his versatility would be a good fit inside and out, however we drafted ayers frist rd, signed haggan to a 2 year extension, and will most certainly sign doom to a extension we would be dumb not to. thats 3 players with significgant money tied up....a first rd pick on OLB sounds very unlikely, reid also is contributing and i consider DE/OLB a project need at this point, now if doom walks in FA i can easily see another high pick, but again even the first rd depends on how ayers finishes
Arthur jones has a had a dominating year last year, but this year he is MIA, and his technique has regressed, he is virtually non existent and is now probally near the bottom fifteen of the top 3-4 DE prospects, a good late run and combine can chnage that, the value is correct for second rd i think but later in the rd.....however with almost ten -12 guys ahead of him at this point i feel we can instantly improve our DL in rd 1. personal opionon perhaps...
Marshawn gilyard is a beast no doubt about it and his qb is a legit 1-2 rd pick next year, that being said royal, mckinely, gaffney, stokley are all smaller Wr's as well, it seems to me that the marshall situation is a volatile one still and the need for a field stretcher with size and power or a redzone threat is more important that anotehr smaller reciever. i like rds 3-6 for a WR but i will be keying in on a bigger guy.....perhaps even 2 WR's will be drafted.....
with regards to estes, he is a solid player and the value is good but he doesnt fit our run game at all. weigman and hamilton are probally not gonna be here, so C/G is a need but estes is more of a finesse center than a power guy like MCD will most ceratinly look for, while he transitions his man blocking scheme to the forefront with ZBS mixed in.
with regards to Your QB....i dont think you can go rd with picking a guy late like that for projects and he def has potential. however brandy showed some good stuff and MCD right now loves simms and orton, its clear he is infatuated with them.....so i can see us drafting a guy for competition, but i wonder if we actually will.
i belive our top needs next year in order will be
1. C
2. DE
3. G
4. CB
5. WR/return specialist
6. ILB
now FA can obviously change our needs draft day....but my guess is positions like ILB/OLB/T/QB/TE/RB wont even really be options the first 3 rds....unless they just have to have a certain player which is possible..
anyway good stuff, it will be fun mixing it up here
