I have realized that Sean Payton is the anti-Jaded when it comes to drafting. Our draft class is the oldest one in the NFL and we drafted more team captains than any other team. We definitely have a type. I personally love it. Was disappointed on draft night just because of the position of our 1st round pick, though I've fallen in love with the young man and love the pick now.
I also find it interesting the way SP seems to pick a school to concentrate on, when he was with the Saints he seemed to have a lot of LSU ties and inside info and now he loves him some Utah Utes. I love this, especially with Utah for one major reason, thier coach has been with the school for 32 years 21 as HC! To me this means he knows the type of kids he likes to recruit and has a consistent enough approach to remain at one program for that long. When we draft a Utah player we kinda know at least somewhat what we're going to get. I think it's cool that there are still guys like Kyle Whittingham still out there and programs like Utah who stick with him. It's the one thing about the Steelers that I immensely respect, they make smart HC hires and stick with them for decades.
We seem to like Oklahoma and Texas a lot too.
