Didn't hear the whole thing, but I caught the end of a segment with Phil and Zach talking about a quote from Sean Payton this week, where he said that finding a legit receiving threat at either RB or TE was a higher priority than adding another WR. Granted, it's also liar season, but this one seems pretty straight-forward to me.
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

There are several in the draft. Gunnar Helm, Skattebo, Blue come to mind.

As far as RB goes, I'd love to see them take two, unless they either acquire a solid vet, or draft Jeanty. Like, take a Trayveon Henderson, Devin Neal type in the second or third. And come back later with a Rahiem Sanders or Skattebo. DJ Giddens is a guy Phil Lindsay likes a lot. But however, whoever it is, IMO we really need two new bodies in that room. Guys with a legit chance to make the team, not just UDFAs.

4-Star recruit wasting away in a POS college offense, Maliq Carr is another.

The definition of a 1st round QB has changed, we’re living in an era where Mac Jones, Kenny Pickett and Bo Nix are 1st round QB’s.

I’d take Sheduer over all of them.

And speaking of white, Cooper Kupp would be a really intriguing fit in this offense. We desperately need someone (anyone!) who can legitimately work this inside of the field in the passing game-- hence Payton's reference to needing a joker at RB or TE. A real slot would do some of the same things, and Kupp is a perfect fit. I'd hate to trade a good draft pick for a guy his age, though-- that's a win now move, and I don't think the Broncos are there yet. They should still be in hard core talent acquisition mode, and those mid-round picks are gold in that scenario. IF Chris Godwin is healthy, he can fill a lot of those same needs without giving up draft capital.

But overall, the more I look at it, the more I think they're ultimately best served going heavy on defense in free agency. There aren't a lot of guys available at our biggest offensive positions of need who are going to represent major upgrades, so IMO it probably makes the most sense to shore up the defense in FA, and go heavier on offense (specifically, some skill position talent) in the draft.

Sanders is gaining momentum among scouts.

Why Cooper Kupp? This isn’t 2021 anymore, dude was slow then.

He was clocked at running an on field 4.2 last season.

I wouldn’t spend money on free agents coming off injuries. Later round fliers in the draft, sure.

Not sure there'll be another LB worth the pick if Jalon Walker and Jihad Campbell are gone. And I don't see them spending a top pick on safety, despite a bunch of mocks that have them going that direction. Of course we'll have a better sense after free agency, and I still have a hunch they're going to fill some of the more immediate holes on defense with vets. But if they don't sign a starting nose, Grant certainly makes sense. Big ol' boy to fill a big need.
