Cornerback is the main culprit. PJ Locke and Brandon Jones are not the liabilities, but neither are elite cover talent when it comes to TEs. An ILB who can actually cover and someone to compete with Riley Moss are the primary defensive areas of need, but adding defensive line talent would address both of these needs and perhaps help the corner opposite PS2 enough that elite talent would not be needed.

SP is perfectly content with building the most overrated team in the NFL.

This thing is turning into a vanity project.

I have no idea what this means. Overrated? This team overachieved and has one first team All Pro. The rest are over achievers. I don’t mean to offend dude, but it seems as though you’re bitching for the sake of bitching.

I’m not offended, and I don’t disagree that the team overachieved.

What I’m doing is bitching about the direction, extensions and QB moves the team is making . . . thoroughly overrated.

Great coaching staff, thoroughly average personnel requirements.

I say go with Nix and build around defense, I’m not a hater, I’m just not a fan of his dink-and-dunk instincts. He is what he is, plus, I think Sean Payton is on par with Andy Reid as a gameday play-caller.

Are you really that surprised with SP and GP calling the shots....I'm not. We are at best a wildcard team again.....Maybe SP can coach us past that, but if our talent only succeeds because its coached up, is it really all that talented to begin with or like you said simply overrated. I'm with you on this one....
