I have always thought Garrett Bolles should be replaced. The flaws in his game drive me crazy. He holds so much because while he has long arms he plays the position like a tyrannosaurus rex. He lets every defender get so close into his body before engaging, it is the major flaw that I see and the reason for the vast majority of his struggles when he struggles.
With all that said, I think it's time even I acknowledge that getting 100 starts out of a LT draft pick should be considered a home run. Is he overrated by some? Absolutely. Is he unfairly underrated by some, myself included? Absolutely.
At the end of the day the big meathead has valiantly done the best he could to protect his QB for 100 games as a Denver Bronco and I should acknowledge that he is better than I ever gave him credit for.
I just saw this article https://www.si.com/nfl/broncos/news/...ory-100-starts and thought it deserved a mention and thought I should dish out as much love for Garrett Bolles as I can muster. Good on ya Garrett, getting closer to the end of his career than the beginning he has a career he should be pretty damn proud of no matter what some dorks who played OL in HS and think they can nitpick his game think.
He is still no Ryan Clady, but very few are. You wanna talk underrated, look into just how amazing Ryan Clady actually was.
