Cecil and Mase said yesterday too that he is very smart. I have no idea what the system and coaching is at Tennessee right now but I venture to guess our QB coaches are better. SP can do a lot with a little with QBs, so give him this lump of clay and go ahead Sean, prove to us just what a genius you are.

In a day and age when even the Kedon Slovis’ of the world transfer every season Joe Milton stuck around Tennessee after losing starting job to Hendon Hooker, supported him and became BFF’s with him.

He waited his turn, very hard to do in today’s CF, I would have transferred.

In the 10 years since Denver won, 3 have been by the Chiefs, 2 by the Patriots 1 by the Bucs so 3 by Brady, 1 by Philly, and 1 from the Rams. Which model are you pointing to if the Chiefs strategy "rarely works"?

The Patriots literally assembled their roster first too before having Brady. Ditto for the Bucs. The Eagles won with Foles because Wentz got hurt, so it isn't valid to credit it to finding their QB...

The Rams literally had their roster too before trading for Stafford...

So you say it rarely works but then the last decade of SB winners all built their rosters first then got a QB? To me, that would seem to signal that you should always build the roster first and then get a QB.

If I'm wrong, please show me which teams followed your model?
Mahomes, Stafford and Brady, let’s just get one of them.

The Broncos finished 8-9 and are nowhere near the QB they need, so you’d like to build a roster first and get even further from said QB. This is textbook Cart-Before-The-Horse.

Your problem isn’t when to find a QB, your problem settling for QB’s. You know damn good and well the Broncos will never find their Mahomes/Brady/Stafford, and you’re dead set on building around the same kind of dogshit QB’s the Broncos have been trotting out there for well over two decades.

And worse yet, you’re trying to convince fans that are just ******* done with the same dogshit QB’s that this is absolutely the way to build a team. Personally, I’m done with this shit, one more Brock Purdy and I’m out.

You know what the Broncos haven’t tried? Trading up into the Top 10 for a QB and then build around that guy, they’ve literally tried everything else . . . many times over.

That's right where I'm at too. Everytime I see a fan say we'll get our QB next year I just want to scream "every ******* year is "next year" to this dogshit organization" and before I get the we did try with Rus, that was just a continuation of this organizations pathological resistance to developing their own QB. How many times can we kick the can down the road before we run out of road? When someone says "we'll get our QB next year" just ask them what exactly in our history as a franchise shows you that we will approach next year in any other ******* way than the last 25 ******* years.

I like how UA mentioned Stafford . . . as if the Broncos didn’t JUST TRY THAT with RW.

Putting this here because if it becomes reality, Surtain may have to be used in the move up.

I will post this in one of the draft threads also if someone doesn’t beat me to it.

I would think PS2 and #12 is more enticing than #11 and #23 (what the Viqueens would dangle).

I agree, and even if we have to throw in next year’s 1st, good chance it might be a higher pick because I think the Queens have a better overall roster than we do.

I sincerely hope he's serious, but I have major trust issues with this organization right now. He's probably just covering his tracks for when he ridiculously overpays for Bo Nix.
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

So, the Bears had offers of 3 firsts or 2 firsts and a player. The Bears liked DJ Moore a lot, he had 3 years left on his deal, and they had a massive hole at WR. Additionally, the Bears are seemingly willing to pay him when his deal expires. Chicago is a great market, so they have no doubts DJ Moore will re-sign if he performs and at that point 3 years of a player of his level is worth a first.

...The Cardinals, on the other hand, are repeatedly held in low regard by the NFLPA and agents. While the Bears valued DJ Moore, the Cardinals are more likely to value an extra first round pick over a 2 firsts since it is unlikely PS2 would re-sign there. They could use 5th year option and then tag for 2 years of play then presumably trade him away, but there is a marketing component to this game too. The Cardinals are more likely to value the extra 1st over a player.

The price of jumping from 12 to 4 is more likely to look like the Trey Lance trade. Likely 3 firsts and a 3rd to move from 12 to 4. (The 49ers traded 3 firsts and a next year 3rd to move from #12 to #3).
The cost the Panthers paid was Pick 9, Pick 61, 2024 first (pick 1), 2025 2nd, and DJ Moore to move from 9 to 1.

I keep getting told that PS2 is worth at least 2 first round picks. He’s an All-pro player who is better than any DB in this class. If that’s the case, he should net us a top ten pick without even having to trade #12 (like ATL at 8). Now, if you want to get into the top 5, you’ll have to package him with #12 to get to 4. I think trading him to get the FQB Payton wants is worth it, but I wouldn’t give him away. I’d actually rather target PS2 for ATL’s 8 straight up. Then get a QB and a blue chipper like Bowers or Sweat.
