    This absolutely isn't a rebuild.

Rebuild is process over “winning” and the Broncos will literally never be “complete losers” (h/t Abe).

That’s why I laugh at “Draft BPA this year and get Sheduer Sanders/Carson Beck next year”.

I’m calling my shot; the Broncos will not be drafting 12th or higher in ‘25, Broncos fans will jerk off to every meaningless “win” and then talk themselves into The Next Brock Purdy when people like me tell them “I told you so” because the Broncos are nowhere near the QB prospect they’ve needed almost literally since JFE retired.

How anyone can talk themselves into a game manager QB in the Patrick Mahomes era is an absolute case study in stupidity.

That became a 5th and 6th when everyone realized we weren’t gonna bring him back. Instead we kept him around for what, 1 total TD?

We might be able to trade PS2 for a top ten pick in this year’s draft (or 2 later round firsts this year and next). Instead we’ll probably make him the highest paid DB in the league to not actually shutdown the other team’s top target while we fellate him for being the best player on a losing team and not being able to afford to re-sign other players or FAs. Or, even better, PS2 doesn’t want to be here, won’t re-sign but we’ll hold on to him until the end hoping we can get him to stay (once he stops his 5th year option holdout where he demands a trade) and then he’ll end up a FA and we’ll get nothing.
Given how little Payton values draft picks, we'll probably just let him walk for a compensatory third when he decides that he doesn't want to waste the rest of his career playing for a non-competitive organization. Sell high!

I’m currently so proud of the FO for continuing to resist picking up other people’s trash. Flacco to Indy, Howell to Seattle (which means DC is definitely going QB at 2), Ridder to AZ. There are less and less trash QBs for the Broncos to waste money on.

Look at all the QBs the Broncos would’ve been “in on” in previous years: Minshew, Cousins, Darnold, Howell, Mayfield, Mac Jones, and every other trash retread/backup QB out there. If they can just resist Porn Star Jimmy we might actually be outta the woods. The Bears are still struggling to trade Fields too. Ya know, if we could get Justin Fields for say, a 6th round pick, I’d jump on it and make him our Taysom Hill. The only problem with Fields is he earns 9 mil next year and 26 mil if you pick up his 5th year option.

Stay strong, Broncos!!! Don’t give in to trash QBs!!!

Just like the Broncos to have one of the best players on the planet but at a position that doesn't help bad teams be good but that helps good teams be great. That's just how I view that position. I mean, I guess having one of the best CBs in the world has helped us beat Mahomes once.

When we inevitably let him walk or go through the franchise tag DB diva debacle that is almost unavoidable at this point we're all going to be wishing we had struck when the iron is hot. But, I suppose we'll always have that one win against Mahomes and the maybe 15 or 16 wins (on the high end) we accumulate the next couple of years while we have him. I for one am pumped about it.

Sean Payton once upon a time coached Kerry Collins to a Super Bowl in New York, coached Quincy Carter to the playoffs in Dallas, and he gets credit for helping to develop Tony Romo.

Brees was a throwaway QB when San Diego cut him with a major medical red flag. Inconsistent player whose shoulder got torn up by John Lynch and Warren. Payton got him to play more consistent ball.

My guess is Payton is comfortable riding it out with Stidham. If they do sign a FA QB, I think it won't be until during or after the draft.

Yes! Jimmy G is off the board. Stay on target! Minnesota made a move acquiring another 1st rounder. I guess they may try to get up to 3 or 4. If they get up into the top 5, the likelihood that we get McCarthy falls.

So really, we’re looking at Nix or Penix at 12 potentially or I guess later on if we trade back but who knows at this point. At least the draft has lots of QBs that might be available in third 3rd or later. Rattler, Jordan Travis, Joe Milton, etc. I’d definitely look at guys like that later in the draft. Odds are, they’re likely to be successful in the pros as the big names just based on their playing experience.

I saw something somewhere that the Vikings were gonna use 11 and 23 to trade for Herbert and the Chuggers would just take McCarthy at 5 and use 11 and 23 to surround him with talent. Funny to think something like that could actually happen.

The path back to a Lombardi is more following a blueprint more similar to the Bengals, 49ers, Eagles, or Bucs. None of these teams had fire sales. The Bengals had a solid defense the whole time, the 49ers built both lines, the Bucs had star WRs and kept them plus loads of defensive talent.

In real time, we are watching the Bears build the next powerhouse. They just re-signed their CB.

Normally I would say that is wackadoo and never going to happen, but Jim Harbaugh is a freaking wild man so.......

I still highly doubt it though. My guess is that Herbert was a huge part of why he took that job.

I'm cool with doing the old Redskins thing too and take a QB in round 1 and one in round 4 or 5. More bites at the apple.

    Trade PS2 today

I never liked a cb wearing number 2 anyway!!

PS2 and Sutton and Bolles - package deal to the bears who roll with Fields - boom. You’re welcome.

Washington wants to move up 1 slot and is willing to sell the farm to do it. The Bears filled their WR need with the trade for Allen, so all Sutton would be is a cap hit for them. In the unlikely scenario the Broncos wanted to move to 1, there are several other teams that can offer better deals.

PS2's value is to teams that have a good to great defense and need an extra piece or to teams with elite WRs in their division. The Jets are a team that might value him since pairing him with Sauce would be a shutdown combo, but their package would probably be 2 firsts and maybe a 2nd. Getting to 10 doesn't get one of the top QBs this year, and CB is already an area of need for the defense. The Jets meanwhile may want to just roll the dice and get a guy on a rookie deal, so no promise even that much gets offered.
