Nah, I’d rather have the so-called curse. Drafting a player because he’s legacy is stupid, and the Broncos are already the pasty whitest team in the NFL.

And you would draft every dude that looks good in shorts. Your way is also stupid. Ask the Raiders.

You don't even have a way!
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

I proffer a paradoxical approach as the best way is to not have a way.

Because this thought pattern has worked so well in the past. Meanwhile we had our future coach literally growing up on our sidelines now running his innovative offense on the west coast picking Super Bowl QB's in the last pick of the draft while we're rotating scrubs at both coaching and QB's while burning through draft picks every year to pay for the privilege.

... and oh yah, let's not want Eddies oldest who turned out to be one of the best offensive weapons in all of football..... but...because he just tooooo darn white.

    This is why we fail...

I agree with you on the specific points you brought up, specifically that just because someone’s father has the athletic ability to succeed in the NFL, then so will they. Although I’m sure Yoda was just joking about the kids of 2 legendary Broncos teaming up to break a “curse,” I’ve heard so many talking head hype up the relative of some NFL great who “may be better” than the ones who came before them. The 1st ones that pop into my head are the Manning brothers’ youngest brother (who chose a completely different career path), as well as his son (who was still in college the last I read).

However, I do believe that such players do have one specific advantage over those who don’t have relatives in the league, the understanding of the reality that their college success means nothing in the NFL. How many players can you name off the top of your head acted like they had written their HoF acceptance speech before they were even drafted into the league. As much as I advocate that some of the greatest players in NFL history were late bloomers, I want noting to do with Zac Wilson because he the 1st player that comes to my mind when talking about players who come across as being like that who are currently in the league, while Ryan Leaf is the all-time example.

On the other hand, both of the Manning brothers and Christian McCaffrey were all much more humble and hard working when they came into the league. It’s like someone tipped them off about the reality of what it takes to succeed in the NFL. Of course it takes more then just a solid work ethic to succeed, but it reduces the likelihood that they’ll squander whatever level of talent they do have.

Im not opposed to McCaffery but i dont think it will make or break this team either. He doesnt really stand out as much as Christian does.

For a guy who only recently moved to WR, Luke shows mad skills. Yes, his last name is what draws him to us but his film is what actually justifies the pick of we do indeed make it. 4th round or one of our early 5th round picks would be the spot.

Also, his last name is not just a last name, it's a proven brand that has shown to be pretty damn good when stitched to the back of an NFL jersey.
