Put action photos of Mims and Tyron Smith next to each other, you can’t tell that Mims is 3” taller and 15 pounds heavier. Dude carries 330 like Bolles carries 300.

    6th round— Vernon Broughton 3-T

    Both are better than Becton.

Yeah, but Bolles is better. And healthier.

You can have Joe Alt, I’ll take the 20-year-old, 330lb Tyron Smith.
So you'd pick Mims over Alt? Okay.

I totally get drafting a WR who runs like the wind and can jump out of the stadium. When it comes to OL I want the guy with as much video evidence of him pushing other giant men around and stopping them cold in their tracks on pass plays. That is all I want. I understand having some athletic and physical baselines(arm length does matter T-Rex's are not good LTs) but past any of that I just want video evidence of his play. It is the dead simplest of all positions to scout IMHO. Can he do it and can he do it against good competition. There is a reason OL are often the safest picks in the draft especially with high picks. Edge rusher is pretty similar actually. The difference with edge rushers is that those crazy combine numbers directly translate to the job so typically the best edge rusher stick out like a sore thumb. They have production on the field and crazy combine numbers. This is why there is such a high hit rate on edge rushers drafted high (hey look another gas mask bong joke).

I think either would be wonderful.

I would love nothing more than to see Mims drop to the Broncos somewhere late 1st or early 2nd where he should be drafted, but too many analysts are slotting him much higher based on talent alone.

I wouldn’t pick Alt at all, reminds me of McGlinchey. I’m out on Fashanu as well. I think the Washington G should be moved to T, I love that dude.

Perfect world; Mims at RT with a mid-1st pick, and Kiran Amegadjie at LT with a 2nd round pick. Undeniable talent and zero “gritty, fits the system” bullshit.

Yeah, I mean Mims didn't seem to fit the system in Georgia either.

In an era where college football is developing less O-line talent than ever before, this class is unusually loaded at O-tackle. I'm gonna be super sad when we totally ignore it, unless it's because we're taking a quarterback.
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Rumor has it we like the RT from Notre Dame. Pick 76 is the scuttlebutt. I'm pretty sure it'll make GP's head explode if we draft an OT that "early" especially with 86 CBs still on the board.

I love this draft North. I like Wright and Holker a lot and obviously my thoughts on Nix are well documented. I actually like all the guys you have us picking. I think this would be a HR for a rebuilding team.

Thats right folks, Poet and I are back for the attack as we prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft by going through some of the free agency pickups as well as give our mock drafts for our respective teams in the Broncos and Steelers.

We must draft Luke McCaffrey to lift the Shanahan/McCaffrey curse and set things right.
