If the asking price on Fields drops from a late 2nd/3rd rounder to a 4th or 5th, I wouldn't be opposed to the Broncos getting in on him and just declining his 5th year option. For one thing, he can actually see the middle of the field.

Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Champ Bailey, nor Von Miller went for 3 firsts. All except Wilson were better players at their given position.

Yeah, you usually just sit on those. No one will judge you here for being gay, Tubby. It's 2024, we're an accepting, loving society. Now go text one of the other horsemen and get some better insults.

RW3 went for equivalent value to 3 firsts.
Rodgers was old and cap hit.
Champ and a 2nd for a Pro Bowl player at a valued position at the time
Von Miller was older and on contract year.

You're not exactly making the case you think you are?

An amalgamation of three first rounders and three actual first rounders aren't the same thing.

What did Ramsey go for the first time? And Ramsey was viewed as the unquestioned best CB in football. Surtain isn't.

Yes I think I am. Von Miller in his absolute prime wouldn’t have garnered 3 firsts and he was much more impactful than PS2.
    1) PS2 is not a generational talent. He’s not even on Champ or Deion Sanders, or Darrell Green’s level. They at least had elite speed. PS2 does not. He has size they didn’t have and his pedigree is solid (both family and college) but he’s not some guy who will impact the future of your franchise for the next decade. Elite CBs are luxuries for winning teams. What do you think the over/under is on wins with PS2 or without him? I’d go with even. He can’t even use his ability to outmuscle WRs anymore because of the way the rules are enforced. He’s just not a high impact player.

    2) No team has ever given or will ever give 3 first round picks for a CB.

Just for shits and giggles, who are the starting CBs for the 49ers without looking it up? Outside of maybe KC (and only because we play them twice a year) you probably can’t name the starting CBs for the top 5 defenses in the league.

How much of an impact did Surtain have last year? How about Sauce Gardner? They didn’t have one because their QBs sucked. Sure, they were first round picks and will get pro bowl votes based on name recognition alone because you’ve been told how great they are, but I’d rather have a TE like Kelce or Kittle or a WR like Jefferson or Chase over a top CB because they score points. Even if the #1 CB on the team stops the other team’s best receiver, they just throw to the other WR or the TE or whatever. Surtain is easy to gameplan around, and if you’re Bailey Zappe and need a 3rd and long conversion, easy to throw at and get completions on.

I really hate to talk poorly about our best player, but right now, it’s worthless to have an “elite” CB on a bad team when he’s probably not in your future plans anyway.

Darnold chose Minnesota and gets $10 million for one year. Not much left on the market now. Winston is possible.

Winston off the board too. $8.7 million to Cleveland.

Rookie, maybe Tannehill, dumpster no name backup, or surprise trade are last options

I love it. I want every washed up boring ass QB on the market to find a team. I want this team going into draft day with Stidham and DiNooooooooch on the roster and that is it. If this dip shit franchise has to be forced to draft a QB then so be it.
    Let's Rid3!!!!
