I just don’t care who these guys are off the field nor do I care about their millionaire personal problems or team loyalty or whatever. Individual stats are for fantasy football. Until the Broncos can return to a winning organization and regain all the respect they’ve lost throughout the league as a perennial contender, I only care about the name on the front of the jersey, not the one on the back.
Most of us have our own opinions on how we can get better as a franchise but none of it matters because the Broncos aren’t listening anyway. I don’t feel sorry for Russ or Simmons (both have made a ton of money from the Broncos) or any of those guys. Both seem to be great men. Both also share in the responsibility of losing seasons. My part of being a fan of a player is over. I doubt I’ll ever buy another jersey. Still rock my Broncos merch, but I’m fine with the DT, Champ, and TD jerseys I already own.
Yup, and I’m creeping ever closer to just being a fan of the game of football, I can watch any team and root for them unless I hate them. The last 25 years of abject arrogance has slowly pinched off the umbilical cord to the Broncos.
I’m one Michael Pratt or Kirk Cousins, one Adam Trautman or Taysom Tebow, away from losing all interest at any given moment.
