At least he has a chance to sign with a contender. I’m happy for him!
An absolute clown show
My one and only bit of slack I am giving them is that this is really SP's first bite at the apple as the brains of the Broncos operation. Last year he was hamstrung by Rus/contract and not having any draft capital. I am giving them this off-season, if they **** this up I will rage. If we end up with a QB room of Stidham/Darnold/Pratt I am going to lose my effing mind.

Dude idk. This feels off. Like in chess when when someone makes a move and it's inaccurate or even a mistake, it gets a ? after it.

Best wishes to Justin, loved it when he was on my team.

Wouldn't it be beneficial to have solid young players during a rebuild as opposed to dismantling everything and relying on slightly younger and much more unproven players?
They were coming off beating the Pack and the Chiefs, the beginning of that smoke and mirrors win streak where they mistakenly thought they might turn it around and make the playoffs. That run they went on hurt the team way more in the grand scheme of things. Kept them from selling turds like Jeudy and also effed up the draft position this year.
Remember all those sweet wins in 2023, Broncos fans? No? I told you.

TP is effectively on a minimum contract now. Worth a flier, considering he knows the offense. I don't see the problem, especially since they are still paying his prorated bonus anyways. The deal that was struck saves the same cap space as cutting him and replacing him with another veteran.

The idea was that they would either make a run, or Jeudy's value would be the same or higher in the offseason. Jeudy's lack of production did not elevate his value, but the WR market is not looking very good right now either. There is Calvin Ridley (whose trade netted the Falcons a 3rd, and it would have been a 2nd if he re-signed before FA with the Jags), OBJ (who did very little last year), and Michael Thomas (who has been nothing but injury flags). Jeudy still fetches a 4th, possibly a 3rd because everybody is overpaying financially and capital wise for guys with far less upside. The trade market is still as bad as it was last year.
I would actually prefer the Broncos start focusing on next year's draft and trading to get picks in the 2025 draft. This year is going to be a wash barring a last minute QB acquisition. Trading Jeudy for Justin Fields straight up would make sense as a flier, but the fifth year option is going to be a pain and would represent more salary they would be stuck with since next year's cap situation will likely be just as bad as this year's depending on how much they are able to take this year.
I don't think he got that much new money (or any). Some of that money was already guaranteed to him and is prorated from the original deal. I can't recall if his deal got restructured last year to save money or not too, so maybe all $6M of "signing bonus" that shows up in spotrac/overthecap is from those.
I'm glad we resigned Patrick cheap, not because of sentimentality but because those are the exact kinds of signings we're going to have to see for the next couple of years. Cheap reclamation projects with little risk and little long term commitment. Tim is extremely reliable on the field and I would assume the guys writing the checks might be privy to his health situation and are optimistic and this is a calculated risk worth taking.
