Remember when Broncos fans were worried about George Paton being the GM?
That was so funny.
Careful what you wish for, because the “Devil you don’t know” might just release the best FS in the league with zero compensation.

I hate to say it, because I’m a huge Champ fan, but wouldn’t it been better to trade Champ for a couple first round picks that we could’ve used to draft a better QB during those years instead of constantly being a one and done or just missed the playoffs team? He was one of the GOATs at the position, but what did we win with Champ? Would our record have changed at all in those years had he never been on the roster? All you have to do to neutralize a Shutdown corner is to not throw his way. Hell, it takes even less than that the second the defense plays zone coverage.
The ridiculous advantages the offense has over defense in the way the rules are enforced and penalties are called has effectively neutered most DBs. CBs called for contact or PI, Safeties for hits, etc. truly, the most important defenders these days are pass rushers, hands down. One Von Miller or Mack or Crosby, or Joey Bosa or TJ Watt is worth 2 or 3 top DBs at this point.
I loved Champ and I love PS2, but I’d take a franchise QB that can score 24 PPG reliably, and lead a comeback on occasion without hurting the team with needless sacks and turnovers over any CB that’s ever played the game. We need to swing for the fences at the most important position in the draft. We need to draft 2 QBs this year. A potential FQB, and then a guy in the later rounds as a potential developmental prospect “backup plan”.

- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

The fact that they refused an offer for Jeudy effing haunts me. There are extremely valid reasons why I don't trust this team to do things right.

Goodbye to basically the only Bronco worth a damn since 2015
