I love Dak too, it's just the idea of taking other people's QBs that I'm sick of. I want a homegrown, drafted and developed talent at QB. Maybe I should just start getting excited about Shedeur, maybe he is the guy I should covet. Maybe we should just embrace the suck this year, draft another CB (yeah that won't turn into contract nightmare having 2 top 12 CBs to pay within 3 years of each other how does $50+M/yr on CBs sound to you guys) tank the season and draft Shedeur next year?

I don't see him as a great #1 QB though. To me if Shedeur is the #1 QB in a class then that is probably a very weak QB class.

    Am I wrong about Shedeur?

What do you guys think of a draft like this?

I tried to do a draft where we get Murphy and T'Vondre Sweat. If we don't go QB round 1 (which will annoy me no matter what but I don't always get what I want) this would be a badass option. Especially if we could pull off Murphy and Sweat, keep the band together so to speak. In this case I couldn't get Sweat with my 2nd pick from trading but it could happen. Beefing up the DL in this fashion and still getting Penix in the second would be pretty amazing. Penix is a wildcard, he could literally go in the top 15(Daniel Jeremiah mocked him at 13) or he could last until sometime I. The second or even third round. I seriously doubt he lasts to the third but some experts say it's possible.

I for one would actually really love that draft.

I love T’Vondre but I can’t take him where analysts have him projected right now, a a 2nd round NT might be a luxury at this point.

Sheduer is QB1, I don’t think people realize how much the scouting community (the real scouting community) respects Sheduer. He would be QB3 in this class, 100%.

Next years class isn’t as bad as its portrayed, imo; Sheduer is a legit QB1 (in any class), next years “Drake Maye” is Drew Aller (though there’s concerns about his introverted personality), next year has Carson Beck (who is, imo, the best prospect for SP), next years “Bo Nix” is Quinn Ewers, next years JJ McCarthy is Connor Weigmann, next years “Michael Penix” is Joe Milroe.

Riley Leonard, Tyler Shouck, DJ Uigelelie and Will Howard might be the strongest group of “sleepers” in years.

I think it’s an underrated class, but the Broncos literally never play themselves into the draft position needed. I’m 100% convinced that they will not be drafting 12th or higher and they’ll win more games with Stidham.

It’s now or (almost literally) never.

Carson Beck would be QB3 in this class, they had to pay him to return.

Here is a list of draft years and the number of players still on the team from that draft. The farthest back we can go is 2016. There is not a single player on the roster that I can find from any draft before 2016.

    2016
1 (but it's Dixon and he left for 5 years, so not sure that really counts)

    2017
    1- Bolles

    2018
    1-Sutton

    2019
    0- that can't be good.

    2020
1- Strand(I think he's still on the roster but I mean really?)

    2021
6 out of 10. Damn 60% of our draft picks from 2 years ago are still on the team, it's a resounding success.

At least things are looking up, I think almost all of 2022/23 draft picks are still on the team, none of them have really done a damn thing of note but hey they're there.
How long have I been saying this shit? Not only do the Donkeys' results suck, their whole damn process is stupid. Since taking Lynch in '16 and Bolles in '17, look at the picks Denver has mostly wasted in the top four rounds on receiving targets.

    1st - Jeudy, Fant
    2nd - Sutton, Hamler, Mims
    3rd - Dulcic
    4th- Hamilton, Okwuegbunam

Over that same time frame, they have drafted one total QB, no offensive tackles, and not one D-lineman or edge player higher than the third round. Completely, totally back-asswards. It's the definition of building from the outside in, yet they continue to believe that they can fill the foundational pieces of their team with free agents and trades. The best part of it is that Courtland Sutton is the only one of them who's been worth a damn to this point. If we draft Brock Bowers at #12, I will go down to Pigeon Valley and punch Sean Payton in the face.
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

    It's asinine isn't it. It's insane.

That's why as I've been saying, if we draft a CB or a WR I'm going to strangle a gaggle of puppies.

    Broncos War Room

"We suck something fierce at rushing the passer. Everyone agree?"
    "Yes....yes...oh yes....hell yes..,...yes"

"Okay okay, so here's the plan. We're gonna draft another CB. We can't rush the passer so let's just cover the WRs forever. Got it everyone?"

Guy at back table sheepishly raises his hand
"Ummm, we could uhhh draft ummm a Pass Rusher?"

    "SHUT THE **** UP HENRY!"

I love this kid. T'Vondre Sweat is gonna be an elite NT/DT. Dude just gobbles up blockers and is amazingly mobile for a dude this size. I want to see him in Orange and Blue so bad. This cat would instantly make our run D so much better. He isn't just a space eater though, he can get to the QB too. I think he might be best served to lose a few LBs. I think he could be just as strong as the point of attack but up his quickness and athleticism if he was playing at maybe 15-20lbs lighter.

This is a cool interview. I just like seeing these kids tell people about themselves. It's easy to forget that these are just dudes who have regular lives and shit. "My mom don't play that.". That was my favorite part.
