My point is the right people did good homework.

I'm not sure we have any evidence that we have those kinds of people in the facility when it comes to QB evaluation.
Yeah. We don't have those people.

This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

The draft evaluation begins Monday. QB’s will be in the discussion. Bottom line is if Payton really likes or loves a guy, he’ll take him regardless of what the draft gurus think he should be drafted. Likewise, if he doesn’t love a guy, he’ll pass on him, also regardless on what the draft gurus think.

Michael Pratt, Bo Nix . . . ya ever notice that “fits the system” almost ALWAYS means severely lacking in physical talent?

Well, it does kinda take a lot of brass ballz to keep going the Trevor Purdy and Brock Keesum route time after time, in that sense the Broncos have been the most arrogant organization in the NFL since JFE retired.

I’d rather have a franchise QB than picks, but your results may vary.

But I think that may work better on a message board than it does in real life.
I completely disagree with taking a QB outside of round 1, unless McCarthy or Penix take a Will Levis tumble.

The Broncos already have Michael Pratt, there’s no upside to develop anyway. Rattler is too short and has no eyebrows.

Joe Milton is the only other exception I make, the best physical talent in this draft. Great attitude.

JJ intrigues me. He definitely flashes some next level Allen/Mahomes-ish plays. I am not saying he's that kind of prospect. I'm not saying he'll be in that league of player but he does flash some of those skills. He has some definite ability to make things happen when things break down and he has good feel for the pocket and from all accounts possesses a quick processor and high football IQ.

At 12 I think I like JJ as the realistic option. So much changes between now and then that it's near impossible to guess what's really going to happen but I could envision us having to trade up a bit to draft him or I could see a scenario in which we move back a little gain some draft capital then draft him.

I’m a huge Michigan fan but I refused to watch a single game this season, I do like what I’ve read about McCarthy and he clearly has the physical talent. He was coached by a legitimate developer of NFL QB’s, although that passing offense probably wasn’t much more than a typical college scheme. Overall their Solid run game with play action passes is the ideal foundation for what SP already does.

IMO this is the kind of prospect you look to develop.

The problem is, unfortunately the NFL usually drafts this kind of prospect in the 1st and then hedges their bet with Trevor Purdy in the 7th . . . only to regress to their default settings of starting game manager QB’s.

Ok, then start with a scrub that already knows SP’s system.

I actually think we will have to trade up for JJ. He is QB 4 and there are plenty of teams behind us also wanting a QB. I would be quite content if he was at 12 and we took him. If we can't we trade back, we suffer through another mediocre year with Stidham so we can draft sanders next year and build around him properly for once in this franchise's damn life.
